Davide Bonamici

Hospitality-focused, dedicated to excellence, and highly knowledgeable are just a few terms most often used to describe me. Born and raised in Rome, Italy, I built a career in hospitality, working in every restaurant position, from cooking, to serving and ultimately landing management roles in fine dining establishment.

The strong entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to be part of a great concept, was at the base of joining the Piva Modern Italian Team.

My goal is to provide all the Piva’s lovers with a memorable experience, leaving them completely free to relax and enjoy the excellent food and atmosphere.

I am the Executive Chef at Piva Modern Italian and have 25 years of culinary experience under my belt. I began my culinary career when I was 14-years-old and have been working in kitchens since. This path has led me to so many places and I have met so many amazing people, all of which have made me who I am today.

The thing I love most is when I can see people enjoying my food, it brings me a great sense of joy. I also love finding ways to put new spins on classic dishes. I feel incredibly bless to do what I love, and it truly is a dream come true to have the opportunity to bring my imagination to life through food and feeding people.

I really enjoy watching my team grow and mentoring the next generation of cooks. I am always looking for new recipes and researching new ways to bring incredible flavours from the kitchen to the table.

Eiichi Kohno, Sous Chef.

Kanav’s culinary journey started in his teen years. His first teacher was his mother, who showed him how to work with exquisite flavours, rich aromas, and fragrant delicacies. Since then he has been on a path to define himself through his food. He is a culinary arts graduate from the GBC in Toronto.
Kanav feels immense satisfaction and happiness when he sees people admiring the food he’s prepared. He also loves to create recipes and a fun working environment for his teammates, as they work to build beautiful seasonal menus.
Kanav is passionate about travelling, food and cultures. His favourite pastimes include spending time with his 140lb dog Tyson and enjoying a beverage or two on the weekend with his family and friends.
